April 22nd is Earth Day, an annual holiday dedicated to protecting and celebrating our environment. And, seeing as the U.N. recently reported that “governments are nowhere close to the level of ambition needed to limit climate change…and meet the goals of the Paris Agreement,” it appears the earth could use all the help it can get right now.

Luckily, there’s a way you can help and have your favorite CBD product, too. Here are six CBD brands on the market committed to being socially and environmentally responsible, and worth your support on Earth Day—and every day.

Not only is Charlotte’s Web one of the highest-quality and popular CBD brands out there, but they also take social responsibility seriously and give back to a few different environmental charities and through employee volunteerism. Their main areas of charitable focus are women, veterans and first responders, as well as sustainable agriculture. After all, as they put it, Charlotte’s Web was “started as a mission, not a company,” and so giving back is at the center of everything they do—and every product they sell.

RE Botanicals was founded twenty years ago by John W. Roulac, who has a legacy in hemp and in finding healthy living solutions. For that reason, all their products are as clean and safe as they possibly can be — with the use of all-organic ingredients, and no use of pesticides, solvents, or GMOs.

Along with being committed to creating clean and safe CBD using USDA organic hemp, RE Botanicals grows their own hemp in South Carolina and reportedly gives back 1% of sales to farmer education and the implementation of regenerative agriculture in order to help farms create healthier soils. As their mission statement reads, “At RE Botanicals we are committed to making clean and safe products that are good for people and good for the earth.”

Earthly Body CBD

Earthly Body CBD, who makes such highly-rated products as Earthly Body Edible Massage Oil and CBD Daily Intensive Cream, was co-founded by philanthropists Kevin and Mare Wachs, who co-founded Earthly Body in 1996, and later, the Get Together Foundation charity in 2004, which is financed by revenue from the sales of Earthly Body CBD.

According to their website, Earthly Body partners with several charities that impact the environment and other causes and “GTF’s mission is to act as the bridge between donor and charity to ensure that 100% of donations received are provided to the intended cause, rather than covering extraneous business expenses.” They’ve worked with such charities as Acres 4 Life, MusiCares, United Cancer Advocacy Action Network, currently, their immediate mission is to help families experiencing homelessness.

As well, Earthly Body is committed to sustainable business practices and continuously reducing their carbon footprint. Like the previous brands, they practice sustainable agriculture, and they also use solar power in their manufacturing and distribution centers.

Eco CBD

It’s in the name—Eco CBD is committed to giving back and to being eco-friendly. Not only do they harvest their CBD from non-GMO organically-grown hemp plants from their partner farms in Kentucky, Colorado, and Scandinavia, but they third-party test to ensure their products are clean and high-quality.

As well, they give 1% of every sale to Blooming with Autism, a charity which helps individuals with autism access the technology and other tools they need to be fully independent.

Verma Farms

Verma Farms is one of the most unique CBD brands on the market today, offering CBD edibles inspired by the Hawaiian islands. They offer some of the best fruity flavors for CBD gummies!

Plus, they show their appreciation for the paradise of nature by whole-heartedly committing to 100% organic products grown with sustainable agriculture, and by avoiding GMOs and pesticides. They strive to keep all their products as “pure” and close to the earth as possible by avoiding solvents and other chemicals during the extraction process. This is because they’re devoted to “making a product that helps leave the world in a better place than we found it,” according to the mission on their website.

Cannacraft

Cannacraft represents a myriad of cannabis brands, and their roots in the cannabis industry—and in cannabis cultivation, specifically—go back to the 1980s. As for CBD products, the best Cannacraft brand is Care By Design and Care By Design Hemp, dedicated to harnessing the therapeutic benefits of cannabis and the first to create ratio blend products with THC and CBD.

Cannacraft also takes their impact seriously. They partner with several nonprofits and charities, including OneStepCloser, which aims to address sustainability issues in the industry. They also take 1% of net wholesale sales from their brand, Farmer and the Felon, for donations and/or sponsorships that positively impact causes they support. As well, in 2020 CannaCraft coined #CannabisforChange, a social media movement they created to get consumers involved with their philanthropy.

Supporting These Brands May Shape The Industry

While these brands show the CBD industry in a positive, charitable light, there are definitely many brands out there that fail to consider their social responsibility and offset any impact their business may have on the environment. But, the spending power of CBD consumers can be very persuasive.

By supporting brands like the six above in your quest for the best CBD products, you can single-handedly steer the industry in a more equitable, eco-friendly, and philanthropic direction. So, if you celebrate this Earth Day by trying a product from one of these socially and environmentally ethical brands, you can take comfort in knowing you’ve helped do some good in the world, and found something that may potentially help you insomnia, anxiety, and more.
