Why you can trustlogo

  • Leafreport's mission is to provide accurate, objective, and valuable content for CBD, which is why we're transparent about our review process  and  how we rate products and brands. We may receive compensation. Here’s how we make money.
  • Our review is consumer-focused only and we do not check or take a stand regarding medical effects.

The Bottom Line

Overall, Rebotanicals is a CBD company that is committed to creating high quality, organic CBD products that are not only good for people but are good for the planet. Their founder, John W. Roulac, is passionate about regenerative farming and utilizing all organic practices and ingredients. This CBD company stands out for having a USDA organic seal on all of their products. Although the company founder John W. Roulac, is an established environmentalist, entrepreneur, and writer, we know little about who else is on its team. In addition to regenerative and organic farming, the company also gives back 1% of all sales to regenerative farmers. Their products are all third party tested and proven to be accurate in terms of the CBD and THC content. Further, all of Rebotanicals products are free from contaminants.

Rebotanicals has a somewhat limited product line. Currently, they offer a variety of CBD tinctures, CBD capsules, and topical CBD rollers. We reached out to ask if they plan on expanding their product line. Via email, they informed us that “We are always looking to expand our product line and working towards new goals. I would suggest signing up for our newsletter for the latest information when it is available.” They answered quickly, but their answer was a bit vague and did not give us a good idea of whether we can expect new products in the future or not.

This company has very fair prices, especially for being USDA organic. Their products range in price between $0.04 to $0.10 per mg of CBD. This is better than average, and often CBD tinctures range between $0.05 to $0.15 per mg of CBD from other companies. It should be noted that these other companies do not have a USDA organic certification.

Lastly, their website is easy to navigate. It is straightforward to find information about the company, their growing and manufacturing practices, and details about their products. Plus, shopping and checkout is a seamless process. They ship their products in a reasonable amount of time, and their customer service is friendly and prompt.

Methodology

  • Read our methodology for more details about ranking and our review process.

    Data Collection and Rating

In our review process, we receive CBD products directly from the brand to personally review ourselves, so we can give you an accurate idea of the packaging, potency, taste, smell, feel, and overall experience of each product. We also discuss the company’s shipping and returns policy.
Another important step we take is reviewing each individual product for details such as the certificate of analysis to assess the CBD level and CBD variance, THC level, and contaminants.
We take all factors into account and give each CBD brand and each CBD product a score for each parameter.
All of the information we collect is generated into a concise, easy to read review and put into our extensive database. Keep in mind, our reviews are never intended to substitute or act as medical advice.

    Product DataBase

Our database collects key information for each product, including CBD product prices, potencies, third-party lab test results, flavors, additional ingredients, hemp quality, extract types, product variety, and more.
We then use all of this combined data to give each brand and product a standardized rating out of five points.

    Brand Review Process

There are many factors we consider when we review the quality, integrity and products of a CBD brand. We rate each brand on several factors including:

    • Transparency & accuracy. It is important that a CBD brand is forthcoming with who makes up their team, their mission, manufacturing process, and lab reports. Also, we look for the accuracy of the CBD and THC levels in the products’ lab reports.
    • Hemp quality. Hemp quality can be a deciding factor between a good CBD brand and a great CBD brand. We look for organic and sustainable farming methods with attention to detail in each manufacturing step.
    • The variety of products they offer. We like to see several CBD product types and flavors.
    • Customer service. It is essential that each CBD company has multiple ways to connect to customer service to ask questions. We look for speedy and complete responses.
    • Price and discounts. Competitive pricing is an important aspect of being a top-rated CBD brand. We also look for discount options and ways to save on your order.

    Market Reports

Another way Leafreport stands out from other CBD review websites is our evidence-based market reports. For each one, we purchase different types of CBD products and send them for independent lab testing to check whether their levels of CBD and other cannabinoids match the label.

    Information Updates

Writers and editors conduct our reviews and our database on an annual basis but continually make updates throughout the year. We maintain frequent contact with brands and highlight any changes in offerings.

    The Review Team

Our review team is made up of a wide chain of qualified CBD review writers, some with medical degrees, some with statistics backgrounds, others with ample experience in the CBD arena. Each and every one of our CBD reviews are approved by our medical reviewer before being published on our website to ensure all information is accurate.

    Conflicts of Interest

While Leafreport does have partnerships with many of the reviewed brands, we manage potential conflicts of interest by maintaining a wall between our content and business operations. This wall is designed to prevent our writers and the review process from being influenced or impacted by our business partnerships. This way, all reviews can provide an unbiased review that serves the interests of our users.

    About the Company

Rebotanicals was created in 2018 by John W. Roulac, a 20 year veteran in the hemp & superfood industry. His goal in creating the company was to deliver the highest quality hemp and CBD products using regenerative agriculture free from contamination by solvents, GMOs, and pesticides.

In terms of reputation, it is clear that John is genuinely passionate about creating top of the line products and protecting the planet. John has been committed to healthy living and protecting the earth for decades and has proven to be a successful writer and entrepreneur. He is a published author and has sold over a million copies of his books, focusing on composting and hemp. In addition to founding Rebotanicals, in 1999, John founded NUTIVA, an organic superfoods company. This company was named one of the quickest growing companies in the United States for seven consecutive years, by Inc. Magazine. Also, John is the founder of several non-profit organizations that are dedicated to regenerative agriculture and preventing climate change. Plus, 1% of all sales are donated to farmers who are practicing regenerative farming. It is safe to say, John is an accomplished businessman and environmentalist. One downside is the lack of any information concerning who the other members of the Rebotanicals team are. We do not know if there are any medical professionals, chemists, or other experts on the team, or if there are additional people guiding the company, who they are.

Rebotanicals is a very transparent company. Aside from having ample information about their founder, John W. Roulac, there are multiple ways to get in touch with customer service, including phone and email. Their customer service hours are between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday. They mention they will respond to your inquiry within 24 hours. They also list their address, which is located in South Carolina. Unfortunately, there is no live chat option.

It is easy to find almost any information you are looking for. The website has an extensive FAQ page that provides in depth answers to questions about their growing, extraction, and manufacturing processes, general CBD questions, and answers to questions about their products. Their product pages are also quite detailed and provide information about the ingredients, extraction method, type of CBD, quantity of CBD, star rating, and access to third party lab results. Their shipping policy includes free shipping for orders over $49.98, or else shipping is billed at a flat rate of $7. You can expect your products to arrive in two to four business days. Also, Rebotanicals offers a 30 day money back guarantee.

When we examined the third party lab results for the Hemp 50mg Classic Tincture, we found that there was 52.439mg of CBD per ml, which is 2.439mg more than listed. This amounts to a variance of 5%, which is below the acceptable 10%. There was 0.29% THC, which is just below the 0.3% cutoff. This sample also passed tests for heavy metals, solvents, mycotoxins, pesticides, and microbials.

Rebotanicals use EVIO Labs to carry out their third party testing. As you can see, based on these results, what is claimed in terms of CBD and THC content is accurate.

Overall, we feel that Rebotanicals is very transparent with their mission, who the founder is and his background, and their farming and manufacturing processes. Plus, they provide plentiful information about CBD, how to use their products, as well as how to reach customer service. The one downside is that we do not know much about the other members of the company’s team. In terms of accuracy, their third party lab results show that their products labels match what is inside in terms of CBD, THC, and contaminants.

    Leafreport’s market reports score

Pet products report – RE Botanicals received an «F» score in our pet products report where we tested 55 pet products in an independent lab.

    Manufacturing Process

The manufacturing process at Rebotanicals begins with their organic, regenerative farming methods using only USDA organic hemp. Their farms are located in Conway, South Carolina. Their harvests are always timed forSeptember during peak season for phytocannabinoid quality. The farming practices at Rebonticals are in accordance with USDA organic standards, which is why they have the USDA organic seal on all of their products. This stands in contrast to most other CBD companies who only claim to use organic farming practices. Their farming practices help increase biodiversity in the soil, support prevention of soil erosion and conserve water. Overall, these methods help prevent climate change by protecting the topsoil, which is essential for a healthy ecosystem. Furthermore, they donate 1% of all sales to regenerative farmers to further support this cause.

Rebotonicals utilizes an organic sugar derived alcohol distillation method to create their full spectrum CBD oil, which contains a blend of terpenes, cannabinoids, and always less than 0.3% THC. They state that alcohol based extraction is the safest for the environment.

Rebotanicals uses third party testing for their products, testing for CBD content, THC content, and contaminant levels. We looked at the results for our Classic Hemp 25mg CBD Tincture using the batch number. This revealed that there was 0.12% THC, which is below the 0.3% cutoff. We also found that there was 768mg of CBD per bottle, or 25.60mg per ml, which is 18mg more than what is stated on the label. This gives a CBD variance of 2%, which is well below the acceptable 10% limit. This product is also free from solvents, pesticides, microbes, heavy metals, and other residues.

At this time, Rebotanicals offers four different CBD product types: CBD tinctures, body oils, capsules, and pet CBD. They don’t offer any edibles, bath products, lotions or creams, vape products, or beverages.

Our products arrived in about three days in a small cardboard box delivered by USPS. Inside, our products were found to be wrapped in brown paper.

We contacted customer service via email on a Sunday, which is outside of customary business hours, to ask if they plan on expanding their product line. They responded to us the next morning and said

“We are always looking to expand our product line and work towards new goals. I would suggest signing up for our newsletter for the latest information when it is available.”

Unfortunately, we did not get a very enlightening answer as to whether or not they have any new products on the horizon. However, they did respond quickly and were friendly in their tone.

The Relief Body Oil in lavender arrived in a small cardboard box with a USDA organic stamp along with the name of the product, size (10ml), and scent (lavender). The sides of the box listed the quantity of CBD (200mg/bottle), type of CBD (full spectrum), ingredients, and indications for use. This roller was designed to be applied to the skin.

The box says to relax, “rub the roller ball onto your temples, forehead, your ears, wrists, and bottoms of your feet.” The box says for relief, “rub roller ball on areas of need.” Keep in mind, this use has not been verified by us. The ingredients are simple; organic U.S grown hemp CBD flower oil, organic coconut MCT oil, and lavender oil. The hemp oil is extracted using organic sugar alcohol.

The box had a QR code on the top and a batch number on the bottom. We used the batch number to compare the lab analysis to the information printed on the label. According to the results, we found that there was 0.09% THC, which is well below the 0.3% cutoff. We also found that there was 213mg of CBD per bottle, which is 13mg more than listed. The CBD variance was 7%. This variance is within the acceptable 10% range. This product was also free from solvents, pesticides, microbes, heavy metals, and other residues.

The product bottle was made from amber glass and had a label with most of the same information on it as the box did. The product is dispensed using the metal roller ball top. The oil was thin and came out easily when the roller ball was pressed onto your skin. It felt smooth and absorbed quickly. The scent was of lavender, however, it was not overpowering.

Relief Body Oil – Peppermint review

The Relief Body Oil in peppermint was packaged in a small cardboard box. The front of the box had a USDA organic stamp, and it listed the name of the product, size (10ml), and scent (peppermint). On the side of the box, you will find the CBD potency (200mg/bottle), type of CBD (full spectrum), ingredients, and indications for use. The ingredients were organic U.S grown hemp CBD flower oil, organic coconut MCT oil, and peppermint oil. The hemp oil was extracted using organic sugar alcohol. This product is intended to be rolled directly onto the skin.

On the side of the box, the intended use stated was to relax, or for relief. The instructions for relaxation were to “rub the roller ball onto your temples, forehead, your ears, wrists, and bottoms of your feet.” The instructions for relief were to “rub roller ball on areas of need.” We at Leaf Report have not verified these indicated uses.

There was a QR code on the top of the box, and a batch number on the bottom on the box. Using the batch number, we compared the lab analysis to the information on the label and found that there was 0.10% THC, which was below the 0.3% cutoff. We also found that there was 207.2mg of CBD per bottle, which is 7.2mg more than listed on the packaging. The CBD variance was 4%. This variance was within the acceptable 10% range. This product was also free from solvents, pesticides, microbes, heavy metals, and other residues.

The product’s bottle was made from amber glass. It was labeled with much of the same information as that which appeared on the box. To dispense the oil, roll the metal roller ball onto your skin. This action released the oil quite easily. The oil was thin in viscosity and was easily absorbed into skin, leaving a smooth residue. The peppermint scent was noticeable, but not overly strong. The price of this product was $19.99, which means each mg of CBD costs $0.10.

The Classic Hemp 25mg Tincture from Rebotanicals was packaged in a blue cardboard box. The front of the box had the name of the product, a USDA organic stamp, size (30ml), and the number of servings (30). The side of the box details some history about the company as well as the extraction method, which was alcohol extraction. The back of the box had a third party tested stamp, describing the type of CBD (full spectrum), as well as some information about how CBD works through the endocannabinoid system.

The last side of the box listed the supplement facts, which showed that each ml has 10 calories, 1g of fat, and 25mg of CBD per serving. The only other ingredient besides hemp oil was organic coconut MCT oil. The directions for use were to “take drops directly or dilute in a small amount of water or juice to drink.” This indicated use has not been verified by us.

You can locate a QR code on the top of the box, and a batch number on the bottom. We examined the lab analysis with the aid of the batch number and found that there was 0.12% THC, which was below the 0.3% cutoff. We also found that there were 768mg of CBD per bottle (25.60mg per ml), which was 18mg more than listed. This calculates out to a CBD variance of 2%. This variance is well below the acceptable 10% limit. This product was also free from solvents, pesticides, microbes, heavy metals, and other residues.

The CBD oil was contained in an amber glass bottle. The label listed most of the same information provided on the box. The lid was equipped with a childproof dropper. The dropper was marked with various lines to help you titrate the exact amount of CBD oil you wish to consume. The oil was mostly clear, with a slight yellow tinge. It was thin in viscosity and dropped easily from the dropper lid. Overall, this CBD oil had no odor and no appreciable taste.
