Leafreport – Noa Gans: Hi, I’m Noa from Leafreport. I’m here at the USA CBD Expo in Miami. I’m here with George, the founder of Myco Sativa. Hi George. How are you?
MycoSativa – George: Hey Noa, doing fantastic, fantastic.
Leafreport – Noa Gans: Great, so tell us about your company and its history.
MycoSativa – George: Sure. Myco Sativa was founded this year. It was early on this year. We actually launched at NoCo, but my my dad had some health challenges so when I came back I waited and now we’re fully launching at the Miami CBD Expo.
Leafreport – Noa Gans: Great. Have a good luck with that.
MycoSativa – George: Yes, yes.
Leafreport – Noa Gans: Tell us about your manufacturing process. Where do you grow your hemp?
MycoSativa – George: Sure. We’re out of Knoxville, Tennessee, and one of the things that we pride ourselves in we’re actually the contract manufacturer. There are literally tens of thousands of contract manufacturers in North America, and we’re one of the few that has gone through the arduous and rigorous process of getting NSF Certification. It’s one of the best you can get for North America, and we’ve got the CGMP Certification out of Switzerland with SGS. So the combination, there’s less than 0.01% of the companies who contract manufacturer in North America for dietary supplements with both CGMP certifications, and all that really means to you is that we really care long term about co-packing incredible dietary supplements.
Leafreport – Noa Gans: Sounds very impressive. Okay. How do you ensure the product’s quality, purity, and cleanliness?
MycoSativa – George: Sure. Being CGMP certified with NSF you’ve got to follow CGMP rules. That means you’ve got to test it for identity, strain, purity, composition. It’s just a fact that you have to follow. Not everybody follows it, but we follow it to a T. We of course, buy the CBD from both Colorado and also Tennessee and also Kentucky farms. We go out and we inspect it and we try to ensure that the biomass is good and the extraction method with though CO2 process, super critical, is also very clean. But once it comes to our facility, again, everything is tested meticulously from the raw ingredient and of course the final iterations.
Leafreport – Noa Gans: What is your transparency policy? Do you publish your third-party lab results?
MycoSativa – George: Absolutely. You know, in dietary supplements you’re supposed to give COAs to all the customers, which we absolutely do. But one thing I love about the CBD industry is that the transparency within the cannabinoids obviously is shown everywhere and because we’re the manufacturer and we really care about the product we show it to all the customers.
Leafreport – Noa Gans: Tell us about the range of products and the highlights of each product’s family.
MycoSativa – George: Sure, sure. You know, at the CBD Conference, Noa, a lot of people have tinctures, a lot of people have gummies, a lot of people have a lot of similar iterations. I’m very happy that I actually spoke about developing a breakthrough CBD product, and by serendipity we actually won the Most Innovative Product for Miami CBD conference for our Cordyceps Gold.
You know, guys, we’ve been doing this contract manufacturing for over 10 years and I have a lot of customers come to me and they want something new co-packed, right? They want something new, they want something innovative and breakthrough in the marketplace. I go discover it and I find something that’s absolutely radically different. I find something that’s got double-blind studies. It’s got studies on NIH, it’s got studies on PubMed, and they’re raving about it until they see the price point because not everybody can afford something radically new.
Some of these ingredients has been sitting in my cupboards. They’re like the smartest kids you’ve ever known, but they just never had the forefront to get the light on them to be able to explode. So our Cordyceps product, we’re the only one that I know of in the United States. And Cordyceps… some people know of traditional Chinese medicine in China. Himalayan Cordyceps is very, very good, but it’s very expensive, up to like $100,000 a kilo, right? So not everybody can afford that. If you go to GNC, if you go to Vitacost and Amazon, you’ll be able to find things like CS-4 or Cordyceps militaris. We have combined both of those strains of Cordyceps plus Hirsutella sinensis, which is very difficult to find. We have a pharmaceutical grade. We add black pepper extract inside of it, plus we have CBD, so it’s a combination that the world’s never seen and we’re really lucky that we got recognized.
We have iterations that are very, very concentrated for medicinal mushrooms like Reishi, Chaga, tiger’s milk, and lion’s mane, but we’re very also happy about our iterations for drinks. We have the first cold brewed powder iteration out there. It’s got incredible robust aroma and you can carry it everywhere. It’s got CBD 10 milligrams plus medicinal mushrooms. We have an incredible breakthrough… I’ll leave the butterfly tee at the end.
We have tinctures, and of course you can get 1000 milligrams, 2000 milligrams, whatever have you. But our tinctures for the ingestion not only has the super critical extracted CBD, we add CBG, and we add Reishi spore oil. So it’s very, very potent to really help you with homeostasis. The topical iterations we have right now is called Restore. We’re the first one to put CBD, CBG, marula oil, jojoba oil, lavender oil, essential oils, so it smells really good. Plus we put hyaluronic acid so you absolutely know that the product is going to be incredible for your skin.
And lastly, what I’m really excited about is our tea. Okay? We have a butterfly tea that we call [B-Fly 00:08:32] Tea. This tea… First of all, it’s gorgeous. You can see it’s radiantly blue, right? And what we for this tea is that we add green tea flavoring, so you get that green tea robustness taste. Plus we put L-theanine, what’s really good for mental acuity. We add lion’s mane that’s raving in the last two months from an NIH study on a specific condition. I don’t even want to talk about it, but if you google it on lion’s mane you’ll find out what it is. Plus we put in 10 milligrams of water-miscible CBD.
I’m also excited to say that we’re the first one add Japanese Oryza phytoceramides inside of this product. Some people have heard of phytoceramides before in high-end skin care products. We all know about collagens, about 16 to $20 per kilo. Phytoceramide, sister, is $3,000 a kilo. I’m happy to say you can put it inside of CBD, because CBD right now is a very unique opportunity. It’s like a renaissance for nutrition. It allows the elasticity… the price of elasticity… to have high-end products.
Oryza discovered this initially just by serendipity going to a sake plant and discovering that unique pattern that some of the workers there had wrinkles on the face but no wrinkles on their hand, and with further research and discovery they were able to extract and patent a phytoceramide that’s incredible for the skin with double-blind gold standard studies that now we can put inside of our B-Fly Tea.
And lastly, Noa, this is like an Instagram tea. It’s almost as beautiful as you, almost, okay. But what you do, if you drink this blue tea and you add a little bit of lemon, swirl it around. When you swirl it around it goes purple because alkalinity changes butterfly PT. And what I’m telling you is this, our product is called B-Fly Tea, and ladies, if you’re ever depressed, if you’re ever in a blue, blasé mood, you drink our B-Fly Tea and it will regenerate you. It’ll move you from a blue, depressed mood into aggressive, sophisticated, vibrant, purple, regal DNA that you possess. Sister, that’s what we’re talking about for butterfly PT.
I’m also very glad that all our packaging is first rate because you’re first rate. If you believe you’re looking for with a premium product in CBD industry, come check us out on Myco Sativa. I’m really glad that we had this conversation. I’m glad that you’ll be able to answer and see us at an event very, very soon.
Leafreport – Noa Gans: Thank you, George. This was very impressive. What is your best selling product and what makes it unique?
MycoSativa – George: The uniqueness is just our ingredients because we’re a nutrition house. Yes, the medicinal mushrooms is absolutely exploding. Go to any super food store, Whole Foods, all of these locations, they’re selling a lot of medicinal mushrooms. We have duel extract medicinal mushrooms. We try to use fruiting body wherever we can, the highest potency medicinal mushrooms possible. That is selling very well, and that combination with CBD is an extraordinary deal. But I’m so happy with just our tincture iterations is selling well and right now a lot of ladies are riveted and loving the Instagram tea. I don’t drink that much guys, but a lot of people are also putting this inside a vodka and it’ll transform your clear vodka into a beautiful iteration.
Leafreport – Noa Gans: Cool. Okay, so can you tell us your recommendation for the beginning users? Someone who heard about CBD and don’t know where to start?
MycoSativa – George: Sure, sure. You know, it really depends on your habits. All right? It really depends on your habits. If you already are in tune with tinctures, try the tincture product. If you’re in tune with capsules, try the capsule product. If you love to drink coffee, drink the coffee product that we have, cold brew. If you love the tea, drink the tea, start with what you’re comfortable with is what I tell.
Leafreport – Noa Gans: Sounds very good. Okay, George, thank you very much for your time.
MycoSativa – George: Hey, thank you so much for all the hard work you guys built on internet properties to try to educate people and the consumer on the best CBD iterations out there. I’m very, very glad and just very thankful you came out. Okay?
Leafreport – Noa Gans: Thank you very much.
