Leafreport – Courtney Quinn: Hi my name is Courtney Quinn, Im here with Leaf Report at the USA CBD Expo in Miami. I have Raj here from Heavenly Candy. Raj, why don’t you tell us a little bit about your company and its history?
Heavenly Candy – Raj Damiani: Heavily candy is part of a much larger company. We’ve been going for two years in the CBD space. I’m actually a qualified medical doctor. I graduated from Kings and I love this space. I was never able to practice as a doctor, so this one… When this came on board, it was like my dream come true as a way of helping people, being very compassionate with them and and actually being able to help them alleviate some of the issues that people go through nowadays. The great thing is that it helps everybody from sort of 16 years up into the 80s and 90s. I was worried, like 16 years, but they get anxiety and depression more than we used to at their age so.
Leafreport – Courtney Quinn: Well that’s great. Tell us about your manufacturing process, where your hemp is grown, what farming methods do you use?
Heavenly Candy – Raj Damiani: Everything happens around Longmont, Colorado. Our farms are in Longmont, Colorado. Our extraction plants in Longmont, Colorado. Basically, we are a seed to sell company. The extraction process that we use is proprietary, but it’s a low temperature CBD CO2 extraction process, but I can promise you one thing that there is no bitter taste in any of our products when you taste them. That’s very different to what other people use.
Leafreport – Courtney Quinn: Yeah, very unique. Great. How do you ensure the products quality, purity and cleanliness? What quality controls do you have in place?
Heavenly Candy – Raj Damiani: I’ve been in manufacturing 30 years, so manufacturing is really easy for me. We have a facility of our own in-house in in Longmont, Colorado. We do not farm out or sub-contract any product at all in any way, shape or form. Every product is made in-house with the highest quality standards, with our own staff. We love our staff and they do an amazing job. In fact, the motto of our company is every product that we have is made with love.
Leafreport – Courtney Quinn: That’s awesome. What is your transparency policy? Do you third party test your products?
Heavenly Candy – Raj Damiani: We third party test with everything with Botanical. We only use one company. We don’t move around from company to company trying to get better results or different results. If we create one standard and we go with that standard, then our manufacturing process aligns with our testing process. Botanical is actually here in this exhibition and they’re an amazing company. They’re local to us and they have very, very high standards and that’s the only standards that we adhere to.
Leafreport – Courtney Quinn: Very nice. Tell us about the range of products and the highlights of each product family.
Heavenly Candy – Raj Damiani: We have seven major categories with some subsections. Obviously, we have chocolates, we have lollipops, we have mints and gums, we have Mexican candy, honey sticks, tinctures, vapes. All that happens. A lot of people are doing that, but where we specialize in now… And we’re always one step ahead of the game is what we’re doing is we’re really trying to help people with beauty products as well because… Somebody said to me yesterday, “How does shampoo help you?” Well, shampoo takes 46 seconds. People leave shampoo in the hair for about two minutes. CBD gets absorbed into your scalp in about 46 to 48 seconds. These are very important facts. When I produce a product, I produce it from the medical knowledge that I have rather than just adding CBD to a product and hoping that it sells. For us, it’s not about profit, it’s about making sure that everything that we produce is able to help people not just take their money and hope that it’s going to help.
Leafreport – Courtney Quinn: Sounds like some great quality products there.
Heavenly Candy – Raj Damiani: Yes.
Leafreport – Courtney Quinn: What’s your best selling product and why do you think it’s such a good product?
Heavenly Candy – Raj Damiani: I really can’t tell you that. I mean, all of our products sell well. We have 1500 skews. We cover seven different categories, like I said, and every single category has… it has its peaks. Chocolates obviously sell better in the winter. Lollipops sell all year round. Gummies sell all year round, but there’s also a lot of competition in the gummies. The two things that I think help makes us stand apart is the fact that they don’t have any bitter taste in them at all. The second thing that they are produced with love and I can guarantee you that nobody else has a brand that’s produced with as much love as we do.
Leafreport – Courtney Quinn: That’s great. I think he told us a little bit about how your product is unique. Do you have anything to add about what makes it different from other companies?
Heavenly Candy – Raj Damiani: Well, I think we’re very empathetic and compassionate. I mean, I speak to a lot of consumers that call me and give me feedback on our product and we actually take all that into account. We also have a free for life program because CBD, as you know, is very expensive. And being expensive, there are a lot of people that can’t afford it and they really need it. I do speak to everybody myself. Like I said, we have a free for life program. What happens with that is if I feel that the person can’t afford it, but they really do need it, we will put them on a free for life. I had one lady call me and said, “I bought your product. It was the worst product that I ever bought. I will never spend $42 ever again on your product.”
I said, “Tell me a little bit more.” She had nine brain surgeries and she had… She threw the book at me, anxiety, depression, everything. We sent her a 3000 milligram tincture. She received it. She followed up with me and her email said, and I have it, it says “You are God.” That’s not what I was wanting or expecting. It’s really about helping people. Once that was done, we put her on a free for life program because obviously she couldn’t afford it. She calls in once every two, three weeks and orders another bottle and it goes out free of charge. We have about 75 people like that in our program. Really, everything isn’t about money. Everything is about helping people and that’s what we like to do.
Leafreport – Courtney Quinn: Wow. That is amazing. It was very nice meeting with you today. Thanks for talking with us.
Heavenly Candy – Raj Damiani: Thank you for having me. Appreciate it.
