Why you can trustlogo

  • Leafreport's mission is to provide accurate, objective, and valuable content for CBD, which is why we're transparent about our review process  and  how we rate products and brands. We may receive compensation. Here’s how we make money.
  • Our review is consumer-focused only and we do not check or take a stand regarding medical effects.
  • Statements regarding CBD products have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
  • Please advise your physician prior to each use of CBD.

My review of Transcend Labs is good, but there is room for improvement in product variety, potencies offered, and purity testing. Their hemp is non-GMO and certified organic, which makes them a premium brand in quality. According to their website, the company was founded with safety and quality in mind, and they publish the exact potency for each product directly under the “Lab Results” link on the main website for easy reference by consumers.

There are no pesticides used in the cultivation of their 100% certified organic hemp crop, according to the company website. However, the accuracy variances concerning potency vary widely for Transcend Labs products, with two CBD products testing below the acceptable 10% limit, and one product testing higher than the level allowed. While customer service reports that the company tests their hemp crop for purity, at this time, those independent test results are not available for customer viewing.

Consumers are offered a highly limited product catalog, with only three delivery methods to choose from. Transcend Labs offers tinctures, topicals, gummies, and a pet product. They also carry a more narrow scope of full spectrum CBD potencies than other comparable brands, ranging from 25 mg up to 1000 mg. However, they offer few potencies within that range, and offer no higher or extra strength potencies beyond 1000 mg.

Their prices range from $49.99 up to $179.97, which equals an overall average price point of $.11 per mg of CBD. The overall prices at Transcend Labs are moderate, or average, when compared to other premium brands in the market. They offer free priority shipping with a $75 minimum purchase at Transcend Labs, or shipping is calculated at checkout for smaller orders. A 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee is offered on all their products.

Pros: Cons:
  • Centralized third party lab results hub
  • Bulk Buy savings
  • Military and veteran discount
  • Exclusive email coupon code discounts
  • Limited product catalog
  • Some accuracy variances in potency were higher than acceptable 10%
  • Inadequate purity testing results available
  • $75 minimum order required for free shipping

Methodology

  • Read our methodology for more details about ranking and our review process.

    Data Collection and Rating

In our review process, we receive CBD products directly from the brand to personally review ourselves, so we can give you an accurate idea of the packaging, potency, taste, smell, feel, and overall experience of each product. We also discuss the company’s shipping and returns policy.
Another important step we take is reviewing each individual product for details such as the certificate of analysis to assess the CBD level and CBD variance, THC level, and contaminants.
We take all factors into account and give each CBD brand and each CBD product a score for each parameter.
All of the information we collect is generated into a concise, easy to read review and put into our extensive database. Keep in mind, our reviews are never intended to substitute or act as medical advice.

    Product DataBase

Our database collects key information for each product, including CBD product prices, potencies, third-party lab test results, flavors, additional ingredients, hemp quality, extract types, product variety, and more.
We then use all of this combined data to give each brand and product a standardized rating out of five points.

    Brand Review Process

There are many factors we consider when we review the quality, integrity and products of a CBD brand. We rate each brand on several factors including:

    • Transparency & accuracy. It is important that a CBD brand is forthcoming with who makes up their team, their mission, manufacturing process, and lab reports. Also, we look for the accuracy of the CBD and THC levels in the products’ lab reports.
    • Hemp quality. Hemp quality can be a deciding factor between a good CBD brand and a great CBD brand. We look for organic and sustainable farming methods with attention to detail in each manufacturing step.
    • The variety of products they offer. We like to see several CBD product types and flavors.
    • Customer service. It is essential that each CBD company has multiple ways to connect to customer service to ask questions. We look for speedy and complete responses.
    • Price and discounts. Competitive pricing is an important aspect of being a top-rated CBD brand. We also look for discount options and ways to save on your order.

    Market Reports

Another way Leafreport stands out from other CBD review websites is our evidence-based market reports. For each one, we purchase different types of CBD products and send them for independent lab testing to check whether their levels of CBD and other cannabinoids match the label.

    Information Updates

Writers and editors conduct our reviews and our database on an annual basis but continually make updates throughout the year. We maintain frequent contact with brands and highlight any changes in offerings.

    The Review Team

Our review team is made up of a wide chain of qualified CBD review writers, some with medical degrees, some with statistics backgrounds, others with ample experience in the CBD arena. Each and every one of our CBD reviews are approved by our medical reviewer before being published on our website to ensure all information is accurate.

    Conflicts of Interest

While Leafreport does have partnerships with many of the reviewed brands, we manage potential conflicts of interest by maintaining a wall between our content and business operations. This wall is designed to prevent our writers and the review process from being influenced or impacted by our business partnerships. This way, all reviews can provide an unbiased review that serves the interests of our users.

  • About the Company

The company mission at Transcend Labs is to provide CBD consumers with full spectrum products that are high quality and certified organic. In order to improve mental and physical health and wellness, or “to help you transcend into a better version of yourself.” Transcend Labs is firmly committed to crafting quality, certified organic, non-GMO hemp for use in their full spectrum CBD products.

They acknowledge as a company that they focus solely on one extract type and three delivery methods because, in their opinion, many comparable brands do not maintain potency from batch to batch, due to the common use of isolate CBD extract rather than full or broad spectrum. With 10 years of experience in natural supplement development, their lab technicians design formulas that are created in part by an in house nutrition & wellness consultant, according to the company website.

Transcend Labs claims online that their three chosen CBD delivery systems, or product categories, are the most desired by their customer base and provide the greatest effectiveness, in the opinion of the founders. They also promise that their full spectrum products have “32% higher dosages per serving than the industry average,” according to the company website.

    Transparency

Independent CBD testing is a vital quality and safety control measure to ensure that the labeled amounts of CBD and THC are closely matched to the contents of each final product a customer receives. All of the products in my Transcend Labs order were third party tested for CBD and THC potency. However, to the best of our knowledge, purity test results for the standard contaminants are not accessible to customers online.

All available third party lab reports for the Transcend Labs CBD product catalog are conveniently located under the centralized “Lab Results” link on the bottom of every page online, as mentioned earlier. In addition, customers can use the main menu on each webpage to view each product’s independent lab test reports:

    undefined

    Accuracy

Using the testing link, it was easy to match my products to the independent third party lab reports provided. As far as the 25 mg full spectrum gummies, this product had 27.1 mg of CBD per serving (1 piece). This is slightly more CBD in total than the 750 mg stated on the label. The product contained 813 mg total CBD, which is under the acceptable 10% variance at 8.4%. While purity tests were unavailable, these gummies tested at less than the 0.3% legal limit for THC.

Their batch of full spectrum 1000 mg unflavored tincture demonstrated a low 3.5% variance, with 1035.7 total mg of CBD, according to the third party lab reports. This is below the acceptable 10% variance limit. It had a non detectable amount of THC, but to the best of our knowledge, no purity test results are posted. According to the company’s customer service team, however, Transcend Labs does test for purity during manufacturing:

    undefined

Their 500 mg topical full spectrum pain cream had a CBD variance of 26% with 630.2 mg of total CBD, according to the independent results, which is above the 10% variance allowed. This cream third party tested under the legal 0.3% THC limit at 0.02%. Like the other products from this Transcend Labs order, the purity test reports for this topical are unavailable for consumer access, to the best of our knowledge.

    Reputation

Two lifetime friends founded Transcend Labs after years of searching for effective and safe CBD products to consume for their own benefit. Throughout the years, both founders have personally experimented with alternative solutions to traditionally prescribed pharmaceuticals. In the course of their studies, they realized that there was a widespread need and demand for organic, natural remedies for various physical and mental conditions.

Over the last decade, Transcend Labs has conducted extensive CBD research, formulated different hemp derived extracts, and tested various delivery methods available in the current CBD market. This company ultimately decided to focus specifically on providing consumers with certified organic, full spectrum CBD products, which they proudly offer in topical, tincture, and gummy edible delivery methods.

    Manufacturing Process

Transcend Labs is a legal, authorized grower of premium Oregon hemp. All of their full spectrum products are sourced from certified organic hemp farms that are non-GMO. They use a clean CO2 extraction method to safely remove cannabidiol from their organic, non-GMO, full spectrum hemp without using solvents. Transcend Labs formulates each of their CBD products with easily digestible MCT oil as the carrier for maximum bioavailability.

After formulation, the next step is independent third party CBD testing, which is an important quality and safety control measure utilized by Transcend Labs to ensure that the labeled potency of CBD and THC matches the contents. They conduct rigorous potency lab testing for all of their products and post the results online, but to the best of our knowledge, no purity test reports were available at this time for consumer access.

They offer premium quality, organic, full spectrum CBD products, available in the form of tinctures, topicals, gummies, and a pet product. Their products range from 25 mg to 1000 mg, and are moderately priced compared to other brands, with an average price point of $.12 per mg of CBD. They use CO2 extraction for all product formulations, and all of the certified organic, full spectrum products from Transcend Labs contain less than the 0.3% legal limit for THC.

These CO2 extracted gummy edibles are bear shaped, and brightly colored, with a typical gummy texture and consistency. With both sweet and tart flavors, these are not overly sugary; rather they are juicy and taste like fresh fruit. The individual gummies were loose in the bottle, and dispensed easily with no stickiness.

The recommended serving size on the label for this edible product is 1 gummy, which tested at 27.1 mg of CBD per serving or 813 mg total CBD. This is slightly higher than the 750 mg label, but under the acceptable 10% variance at 8.4% with a non detectable amount of THC confirmed. To the best of our knowledge, purity test results for this product are unavailable for customers to view. Like all of the CBD products from Transcend Labs, these gummies are certified organic and non-GMO.

This CO2 extracted full spectrum tincture is translucent and nearly colorless in appearance, with a slight pale yellow tinge of color. The company recommended serving size is 1 ml, but with no visible measuring marks on the dropper, precise dosing is tricky. The viscosity is a bit thinner than comparable tinctures, making the measuring process messy. The natural flavor is not overpowering, with no grassy or herbal aftertaste.

This tincture is formulated with MCT oil, and is recommended by the company for oral and sublingual use only. The third party lab report for this batch of their 1000 mg tincture had 1035.7 total mg of CBD, according to the independent results. This is well below the acceptable 10% variance limit at 3.5%. The tincture tested as containing a non-detectable amount of THC, but to the best of our knowledge, no purity tests are available for this certified organic tincture.

This full spectrum product is grayish white in color and exhibits the viscosity of a thick liquid rather than a cream. The low viscosity makes application to skin tricky without leaving extra drips. With its runny consistency, consumers can literally pour this cream out of the container. While it does rub into the skin easily, it leaves a slightly greasy residue. This topical product is for use on external skin only. The company’s suggested daily use is to loosen tight muscles for targeted relief of daily aches or for chronic pain, but we have not tested these outcomes for ourselves.

This CO2 extracted cream is formulated with MCT oil for maximum bioavailability. The lab report for their 500 mg full spectrum pain cream, however, had a CBD variance of 26% with 630.2 mg of total CBD, which is above the 10% variance allowed. This topical product tested at .02% THC, which is well under the 0.3% legal limit. It is derived from certified organic, non-GMO hemp that is grown without pesticides, according to the company. To the best of our knowledge, however, standard purity test results were not readily accessible by consumers at this time.
