The Bottom Line

Variety of ProductsIcon

Variety of Products

2.2

Smile CBD offers a limited variety of premium quality, certified organic, isolate CBD products that are available in tinctures, topicals, beauty products, and gummies. Products range from 10 mg to 1000 mg of total CBD, and are extracted using a CO2 process before being formulated with easily digestible MCT oil as the carrier for maximum bioavailability and tested by an independent third party lab. On their website, they have an “Our Ingredients” link explaining in detail every natural ingredient used, as well as listing what ingredients consumers will not find in Smile CBD’s vegan, organic, CBD isolate products.

Transparency & AccuracyIcon

Transparency & Accuracy

2.7

Established in 2020, Smile offers accessibility to the exact potency and all available purity tests for each organic, CBD isolate product on a centralized testing hub that is located under the “Certificate of Authenticity” link. The accuracy variances for our Smile products concerning potency are mixed, with two checked products testing below the acceptable 10% variance limit allowed and two products testing over the 10% limit. Some ordered products passed purity testing for pesticides, solvents, microbials, and heavy metals, according to third party lab reports, which are available for customer access online using the “Certificate of Authenticity” link found at the bottom of every page online. Several products, however, were only tested for microbes and/or heavy metals, while one ordered product had no purity testing available.

Hemp QualityIcon

They also promise no gluten, no allergens, and no artificial ingredients are used in their products. Smile CBD utilizes sustainable agricultural practices during cultivation and formulates their isolate products in a GMP compliant facility.

Price & DiscountsIcon

Methodology

  • Read our methodology for more details about ranking and our review process.

    Data Collection and Rating

In our review process, we receive CBD products directly from the brand to personally review ourselves, so we can give you an accurate idea of the packaging, potency, taste, smell, feel, and overall experience of each product. We also discuss the company’s shipping and returns policy.
Another important step we take is reviewing each individual product for details such as the certificate of analysis to assess the CBD level and CBD variance, THC level, and contaminants.
We take all factors into account and give each CBD brand and each CBD product a score for each parameter.
All of the information we collect is generated into a concise, easy to read review and put into our extensive database. Keep in mind, our reviews are never intended to substitute or act as medical advice.

    Product DataBase

Our database collects key information for each product, including CBD product prices, potencies, third-party lab test results, flavors, additional ingredients, hemp quality, extract types, product variety, and more.
We then use all of this combined data to give each brand and product a standardized rating out of five points.

    Brand Review Process

There are many factors we consider when we review the quality, integrity and products of a CBD brand. We rate each brand on several factors including:

    • Transparency & accuracy. It is important that a CBD brand is forthcoming with who makes up their team, their mission, manufacturing process, and lab reports. Also, we look for the accuracy of the CBD and THC levels in the products’ lab reports.
    • Hemp quality. Hemp quality can be a deciding factor between a good CBD brand and a great CBD brand. We look for organic and sustainable farming methods with attention to detail in each manufacturing step.
    • The variety of products they offer. We like to see several CBD product types and flavors.
    • Customer service. It is essential that each CBD company has multiple ways to connect to customer service to ask questions. We look for speedy and complete responses.
    • Price and discounts. Competitive pricing is an important aspect of being a top-rated CBD brand. We also look for discount options and ways to save on your order.

    Market Reports

Another way Leafreport stands out from other CBD review websites is our evidence-based market reports. For each one, we purchase different types of CBD products and send them for independent lab testing to check whether their levels of CBD and other cannabinoids match the label.

    Information Updates

Writers and editors conduct our reviews and our database on an annual basis but continually make updates throughout the year. We maintain frequent contact with brands and highlight any changes in offerings.

    The Review Team

Our review team is made up of a wide chain of qualified CBD review writers, some with medical degrees, some with statistics backgrounds, others with ample experience in the CBD arena. Each and every one of our CBD reviews are approved by our medical reviewer before being published on our website to ensure all information is accurate.

    Conflicts of Interest

While Leafreport does have partnerships with many of the reviewed brands, we manage potential conflicts of interest by maintaining a wall between our content and business operations. This wall is designed to prevent our writers and the review process from being influenced or impacted by our business partnerships. This way, all reviews can provide an unbiased review that serves the interests of our users.

  • About the Company

Established in 2020, Smile is committed to the highest standards of cultivation, testing and manufacturing in the industry, as witnessed by their organic designation. This brand is dedicated to offering “the cleanest CBD products,” free of gluten, allergens, artificial flavors, animal derived ingredients, and GMO. Smile CBD also works to share knowledge with the public through their regular “Smile News,” which is an informational newsletter that is emailed to subscribers and posted on their main company website.

    Transparency

Independent CBD testing is a necessary quality and safety control tool to ensure that the labeled amounts of CBD and THC are very close to the contents of each final product a customer receives. Smile CBD has a centralized lab testing link on their company homepage under the “Certificate of Authenticity” link at the bottom of every page online. All of the products in our Smile order were third party tested for CBD and THC potency. Purity tests for foreign contaminants, such as pesticides, solvents, microbials, and heavy metals, were only performed on some products due to their organic designation, according to the company.

    Accuracy

Using the centralized lab testing hub, it was easy to match the products with the independent third party lab results. As far as the highest accuracy variance in this order, the 300 mg organic, isolate face cream tested as containing 358.04 total mg of CBD, which represents a 19.3% accuracy variance, higher than the acceptable 10% limit.

The lowest accuracy variance was found in the 500 mg isolate, organic French vanilla CBD tincture, which tested as containing 501.6 total mg of CBD. This calculates to an accuracy variance of a mere .32%, well below the 10% variance limit allowed. All isolate products were confirmed by independent third party testing to contain less than the legal 0.3% limit of THC, but purity tests for foreign contaminants were not available at this time.

    Reputation

Smile is proudly dedicated to producing and offering consistent, organic, isolate CBD products with all natural ingredients. Their company tagline is “CBD and Smiling Are Both Natural Mood Boosters,” and the Smile CBD website includes voluntary customer reviews on every product page so consumers can read current user comments directly. This vegan brand prides themselves on their all natural ingredients, and their products are guaranteed to be free of gluten, allergens, GMO, artificial flavors, and any animal derived ingredients.

    Manufacturing Process

Smile is a legal, authorized grower of premium organic U.S. hemp. Their hemp derived, isolate CBD products are extracted using a CO2 process before being formulated with easily digestible MCT oil as the carrier for maximum bioavailability. After formulation, the next step is independent third party CBD testing, which is an important safety and quality control measure utilized by Smile to ensure that the labeled potency of CBD and THC matches the contents. They conduct independent potency lab testing for all of their products and post the available results on their website under the “Certificate of Authenticity” link located on the very bottom of each page.

Smile offers premium quality, vegan, organic CBD products that are available in isolate tinctures, topicals, including beauty products, and various flavors of gummies. Their products range from 10 mg to 1000 mg in potency and are average priced when compared to other organic brands, with an overall price point average of $.10 per mg of CBD.
