Why you can trustlogo

  • Leafreport's mission is to provide accurate, objective, and valuable content for CBD, which is why we're transparent about our review process  and  how we rate products and brands. We may receive compensation. Here’s how we make money.
  • Our review is consumer-focused only and we do not check or take a stand regarding medical effects.
  • Statements regarding CBD products have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
  • Please advise your physician prior to each use of CBD.

The Bottom Line

My review of Max CBD is very good, but there is some room for improvement concerning the accuracy variances of their third party lab test potency results and their limited product catalog. They do offer free shipping with a $50 order minimum, ship internationally, and include a 60 day money back satisfaction guarantee on all products called the “Trust-Max” plan, with no questions asked.

Rather than a centralized testing hub, however, all of the third party lab results for each product’s potency and purity are scattered throughout the main website. Each individual product page lists only the corresponding lab results for one product at a time. The accuracy variances for these Max CBD products vary concerning potency, with two products testing below the acceptable 10% variance limit, and one product testing above the level allowed.

They carry a more limited range of CBD delivery methods than comparable brands, offering full spectrum products from 25 mg to 2500 mg with few potency options in between this range. Their compact catalog includes CBD topicals and skin care, tinctures, and capsules, often called softgels online. Their prices range from $39 up to $249, which equals an average price point of $.34. This means that Max CBD does have higher priced CBD products than other comparable organic brands in the market.

Pros: Cons:
  • International currencies accepted
  • International shipping offered
  • Multiple savings codes, discounts, and flash sale opportunities
  • Trust-Max Plan provides customers with 100% unconditional guarantee for 60 days
  • Limited product catalog and potencies
  • No centralized third party lab results hub
  • $50 minimum order required for free shipping
  • No military or veteran discounts

Methodology

  • Read our methodology for more details about ranking and our review process.

    Data Collection and Rating

In our review process, we receive CBD products directly from the brand to personally review ourselves, so we can give you an accurate idea of the packaging, potency, taste, smell, feel, and overall experience of each product. We also discuss the company’s shipping and returns policy.
Another important step we take is reviewing each individual product for details such as the certificate of analysis to assess the CBD level and CBD variance, THC level, and contaminants.
We take all factors into account and give each CBD brand and each CBD product a score for each parameter.
All of the information we collect is generated into a concise, easy to read review and put into our extensive database. Keep in mind, our reviews are never intended to substitute or act as medical advice.

    Product DataBase

Our database collects key information for each product, including CBD product prices, potencies, third-party lab test results, flavors, additional ingredients, hemp quality, extract types, product variety, and more.
We then use all of this combined data to give each brand and product a standardized rating out of five points.

    Brand Review Process

There are many factors we consider when we review the quality, integrity and products of a CBD brand. We rate each brand on several factors including:

    • Transparency & accuracy. It is important that a CBD brand is forthcoming with who makes up their team, their mission, manufacturing process, and lab reports. Also, we look for the accuracy of the CBD and THC levels in the products’ lab reports.
    • Hemp quality. Hemp quality can be a deciding factor between a good CBD brand and a great CBD brand. We look for organic and sustainable farming methods with attention to detail in each manufacturing step.
    • The variety of products they offer. We like to see several CBD product types and flavors.
    • Customer service. It is essential that each CBD company has multiple ways to connect to customer service to ask questions. We look for speedy and complete responses.
    • Price and discounts. Competitive pricing is an important aspect of being a top-rated CBD brand. We also look for discount options and ways to save on your order.

    Market Reports

Another way Leafreport stands out from other CBD review websites is our evidence-based market reports. For each one, we purchase different types of CBD products and send them for independent lab testing to check whether their levels of CBD and other cannabinoids match the label.

    Information Updates

Writers and editors conduct our reviews and our database on an annual basis but continually make updates throughout the year. We maintain frequent contact with brands and highlight any changes in offerings.

    The Review Team

Our review team is made up of a wide chain of qualified CBD review writers, some with medical degrees, some with statistics backgrounds, others with ample experience in the CBD arena. Each and every one of our CBD reviews are approved by our medical reviewer before being published on our website to ensure all information is accurate.

    Conflicts of Interest

While Leafreport does have partnerships with many of the reviewed brands, we manage potential conflicts of interest by maintaining a wall between our content and business operations. This wall is designed to prevent our writers and the review process from being influenced or impacted by our business partnerships. This way, all reviews can provide an unbiased review that serves the interests of our users.

  • About the Company

Established in 2019 in Pompano Beach, Florida, Max CBD reports online that they truly love the earth and plants, especially hemp. Upon harvest of their Oregon grown hemp crop, Max CBD employs an extraction process that ensures the preservation of nearly all beneficial hemp derived cannabinoids and terpenes, per the company website.

Max CBD is committed to helping others improve the quality of their lives through high quality CBD products and a one of a kind, ironclad 60 day Trust-Max Plan that protects consumers by ensuring either complete satisfaction or a complete refund with no questions asked. They also offer CBD consultations at no charge through a link on the main menu.

    Transparency

Independent CBD testing is a vital quality and safety control measure to ensure that the labeled amounts of CBD and THC are very close to the contents of each final product a customer receives. All of the products from Max CBD were third party tested for CBD and THC potency and passed all purity testing for contaminants as well.

Rather than a centralized testing hub, the third party lab results for each individual product are scattered throughout the main website. Each individual product page lists only the corresponding lab results for one product at a time:

    undefined

    Accuracy

Using the testing links provided on each product page online, it was easy to match my products to the independent third party lab reports provided. Their full spectrum anti-aging CBD and collagen cream tested the most accurately: 2.36 mg per 2.5 mg pump in this 250 mg labeled product, for a total of 236 mg of CBD. It is well below the 10% variance allowed at 5.6%:

    undefined

Their batch of full spectrum 300 mg unflavored tincture exhibited a high 35.2% variance, with 405.6 total mg of CBD, according to the third party lab reports. This is well above the acceptable 10% variance limit, and is their highest accuracy variance.

Each product had a good color, clarity, and texture. All standard purity tests for E.coli, pesticides, and heavy metals were passed by these Max CBD products. No THC was detected, and these results were confirmed by corresponding independent lab reports. The Max CBD organic products all tested negative for residual solvents, as well.

    Reputation

At MaxCBD Wellness, they utilize a proprietary extraction process that ensures the preservation of “nearly all beneficial hemp derived cannabinoids and terpenes,” while eliminating unnecessary compounds and contaminants. Their high quality products are backed by rigorous testing and supported by their team of experts, with photos provided online for each expert as well as instructions for any person, CBD consumer or otherwise, concerning how to book a free consultation.

Max CBD encourages all consumers to leave a personalized, scored review on a number of ratings platforms, such as https://us-reviews.com/ where their loyal customers leave unsolicited reviews and rate them with 5 stars, as seen here:

    Leafreport’s market reports score

Topicals report –  MaxCBD received  a «C» score in our topicals products report where we tested 40 different topical products in an independent lab.

    Manufacturing Process

Max CBD is a legal, authorized grower of premium Oregon hemp. All of their full spectrum products are sourced from organic hemp farms that are non-GMO. They use a clean CO2 extraction method to safely remove cannabidiol from their organic, non-GMO, full spectrum hemp without using solvents. Max CBD formulates each of their products with easily digestible MCT oil as the carrier for maximum bioavailability.

After formulation, the next step is independent third party CBD testing, which is an important quality and safety control measure utilized by Max CBD to ensure that the labeled potency of CBD and THC matches the contents. They conduct rigorous potency lab testing for all of their products and post the results online.

They offer premium quality, certified organic, full spectrum CBD that is available in tinctures, skin care products, and capsules, also called softgels. Their products range in potency from 25 mg to 2500 mg, and are higher priced compared to other brands, with an average price point of $.34 per mg of CBD. Max CBD has a limited variety of potencies and products, as well.

The recommended serving size on the label for this full spectrum oral product is 1 softgel or capsule, which tested at 13.46 mg of CBD per serving (1 piece). This is less total CBD than the 450 mg indicated on the label with 403.8 mg total CBD. This is slightly over the acceptable 10% variance at 10.2%. The THC amount tested under the legal 0.3% limit.

All purity tests were passed, according to the third party lab results. Like all of the other CBD products from Max CBD, these gummies are organic, natural, and non-GMO. They are formulated using organic MCT oil for maximum bioavailability. These CO2 extracted full spectrum capsules, or softgels, are amber in color and have a soft texture.

This CO2 extracted full spectrum tincture is translucent and nearly colorless in appearance, with a slight pale yellow tinge of color. The company recommended serving size is 1 ml, but with no visible measuring marks on the dropper, precise dosing is tricky. The viscosity is a bit thinner than comparable tinctures, making the measurement process messy. The natural flavor is not overpowering, with no grassy or herbal aftertaste.

This tincture is formulated with MCT oil, and is recommended by the company for oral and sublingual use only. This 300 mg full spectrum unflavored tincture contained 405.6 total mg of CBD, according to the third party lab reports leading to a 35.2% variance. This is well above the acceptable 10% variance limit, but the content of THC was under the legal 0.3%. All standard purity tests were passed, as confirmed by corresponding independent lab reports.

This full spectrum product is white in color and has a thicker consistency than a typical cream, which makes application to skin easy, avoiding messiness. It rubs into the skin easily, and does not leave any residue. This topical product is for use on external skin only. The company’s suggested daily use is to firm and nourish sensitive skin for targeted treatment of the signs of aging, but we have not tested these outcomes for ourselves. It comes in a convenient pump for easy use.

This CO2 extracted cream is formulated with MCT oil for maximum bioavailability, as well as various oils and pharmaceutical grade ingredients. Their full spectrum anti-aging CBD and collagen cream tested at 2.36 mg per pump. The product label indicated that each pump should contain 2.5 mg in this 250 mg labeled product. This equals a total of 236 mg of CBD, which is below the 10% variance allowed at 5.6%. A non detectable amount of THC was confirmed, and all purity tests for contaminants were passed, as no pesticides or solvents are used while growing their organic hemp.

This white colored , CO2 extracted full spectrum product has a typical, thinner eye cream consistency that is more of a liquid than a traditional cream. Each pump of cream rubs into the skin smoothly and easily, and does not leave a residue. This topical product is for use on external skin only, and is specifically for targeted use on skin area around the eyes. The company’s suggested daily use is to firm up sensitive skin for treatment of the signs of aging, such as wrinkles and laugh lines, but we have not tested these outcomes for ourselves.

This CO2 extracted cream is formulated with MCT oil for maximum bioavailability, and a non detectable amount of THC was confirmed by independent third party lab reports. All purity tests for contaminants were passed, and because it is organic hemp, no pesticides or solvents are used.
