  • Leafreport's mission is to provide accurate, objective, and valuable content for CBD, which is why we're transparent about our review process  and  how we rate products and brands. We may receive compensation. Here’s how we make money.
  • Our review is consumer-focused only and we do not check or take a stand regarding medical effects.
  • Statements regarding CBD products have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
  • Please advise your physician prior to each use of CBD.

The Bottom Line

My review of Hempfusion is very good, based on their certified organic, pesticide free, non-GMO hemp quality and their consistency in accuracy variances; however, they do have higher than average prices compared to other premium brands. They publish the exact potency and purity for each product directly on the main website in a centralized location.

Hempfusion carries an average range of CBD potencies, ranging from 3 mg up to 600 mg in broad spectrum, DNA verified Heirloom hemp derived products, offering no potencies over 600 mg at this time. They offer premium quality certified organic CBD products that are available in tinctures, capsules, topicals, skin care, and liquids.

Their products range in price from $12.99 to $65.99 and their average price point is $.59 per mg of CBD. In addition to affordability, the consumer also benefits in terms of accessibility, with free shipping, regardless of purchase total, and a 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee on all products.

The accuracy variances for these Hempfusion products are superb concerning potency, with all products testing well below the 10% variance limit. Their products passed all standard purity testing for residuals, solvents, pesticides, heavy metals, and other contaminants. No synthetic ingredients are used in these certified organic Hempfusion CBD products.

Pros: Cons:
  • Free shipping on every order
  • Accuracy variances for potency well below 10% limit
  • Excellent certified organic hemp quality
  • Subscription program
  • Limited product catalog
  • Higher than average prices
  • Main menu overlaps items by listing them in multiple categories
  • Highest potency available is 600 mg

Methodology

  • Read our methodology for more details about ranking and our review process.

    Data Collection and Rating

In our review process, we receive CBD products directly from the brand to personally review ourselves, so we can give you an accurate idea of the packaging, potency, taste, smell, feel, and overall experience of each product. We also discuss the company’s shipping and returns policy.
Another important step we take is reviewing each individual product for details such as the certificate of analysis to assess the CBD level and CBD variance, THC level, and contaminants.
We take all factors into account and give each CBD brand and each CBD product a score for each parameter.
All of the information we collect is generated into a concise, easy to read review and put into our extensive database. Keep in mind, our reviews are never intended to substitute or act as medical advice.

    Product DataBase

Our database collects key information for each product, including CBD product prices, potencies, third-party lab test results, flavors, additional ingredients, hemp quality, extract types, product variety, and more.
We then use all of this combined data to give each brand and product a standardized rating out of five points.

    Brand Review Process

There are many factors we consider when we review the quality, integrity and products of a CBD brand. We rate each brand on several factors including:

    • Transparency & accuracy. It is important that a CBD brand is forthcoming with who makes up their team, their mission, manufacturing process, and lab reports. Also, we look for the accuracy of the CBD and THC levels in the products’ lab reports.
    • Hemp quality. Hemp quality can be a deciding factor between a good CBD brand and a great CBD brand. We look for organic and sustainable farming methods with attention to detail in each manufacturing step.
    • The variety of products they offer. We like to see several CBD product types and flavors.
    • Customer service. It is essential that each CBD company has multiple ways to connect to customer service to ask questions. We look for speedy and complete responses.
    • Price and discounts. Competitive pricing is an important aspect of being a top-rated CBD brand. We also look for discount options and ways to save on your order.

    Market Reports

Another way Leafreport stands out from other CBD review websites is our evidence-based market reports. For each one, we purchase different types of CBD products and send them for independent lab testing to check whether their levels of CBD and other cannabinoids match the label.

    Information Updates

Writers and editors conduct our reviews and our database on an annual basis but continually make updates throughout the year. We maintain frequent contact with brands and highlight any changes in offerings.

    The Review Team

Our review team is made up of a wide chain of qualified CBD review writers, some with medical degrees, some with statistics backgrounds, others with ample experience in the CBD arena. Each and every one of our CBD reviews are approved by our medical reviewer before being published on our website to ensure all information is accurate.

    Conflicts of Interest

While Leafreport does have partnerships with many of the reviewed brands, we manage potential conflicts of interest by maintaining a wall between our content and business operations. This wall is designed to prevent our writers and the review process from being influenced or impacted by our business partnerships. This way, all reviews can provide an unbiased review that serves the interests of our users.

    About the Company

Hempfusion prides itself on offering premium quality, broad spectrum CBD products from three European farms in different microclimates, according to the company. They offer a variety of items that are 100% guaranteed to have no wheat, gluten, dairy, parabens, glycols, sulfates, beeswax, or artificial flavors –which is “what discerning consumers prefer.”

Every ingredient is all natural and certified organic, per USDA standards, and each final Hempfusion product is made with the consumer in mind, as witnessed in the effort the company takes to grow, manufacture, extract, and test the items offered in their hemp derived CBD product catalog. Over the last five years they’ve been in business, Hempfusion has grown a loyal customer base, and most consumers leave 5 star Trustpilot reviews for this premium brand.

    Transparency

Independent CBD testing is a vital quality and safety control measure to ensure that the labeled amounts of CBD and THC are very close to the contents of each final product a customer receives.

According to the company website, Hempfusion uses on site chromatography testing before third party batch testing, using proprietary processes to ensure accurate levels of CBD and confirm the absence of THC.

All of the products in my Hempfusion order were third party tested for CBD and THC potency, and most were tested for purity. Customers can view the third party lab results on each corresponding product page. In addition, all available third party lab reports for the Hempfusion CBD product catalog are conveniently located under the centralized “Complete List of COAs” link online:

    undefined

    Accuracy

Using the testing link under “Trust & Safety” on the main menu, it was easy to match my products to the independent third party lab reports provided concerning potency and purity:

    undefined

As far as the 65 mg anti-aging cream, the independent lab reports confirmed an extremely low 0.46% accuracy variance with 64.7 total mg of CBD, according to the third party lab reports, which is below the acceptable 10% variance limit.

The regular 25 mg capsules tested at 5.41 mg of total CBD per serving size of 1 capsule. This equals 162.3 total mg of CBD in the 150 mg labeled product leading to a variance of 8.2%, which is under the 10% accuracy variance allowed. This represents their highest accuracy variance in this order:

    undefined

All products were confirmed by third party testing to contain a non detectable amount of THC, and all purity tests for heavy metals, residual pesticides and solvents, and yeasts and molds were passed, according to the independent third party lab reports. Each product showed clarity in color and had a solid appearance, based on the corresponding product page online.

    Reputation

Established in 2015 by Jason Mitchell, who sits on the U.S. Hemp Roundtable, Hempfusion employs the highest standards of testing and adheres to the highest standards of hemp quality. Within this company, specialists from various backgrounds bring decades of extensive research, consumer education, and experience with successful launches of brands, according to the company website. They claim online that their “vast experience has taught us that the ‘entourage effect’ unlocks the true benefits of the hemp plant.”

According to the company, each product is handcrafted and FDA audited, and is produced in a GMP compliant facility with pure European hemp derived CBD that is non-GMO and 100% certified organic. As a brand, they put consumers first and value trust, giving back to a variety of humanitarian causes like Autism Hopes, Veterans and other Human Health Organizations.

    Manufacturing Process

Hempfusion is a legal, authorized grower of premium European hemp and is also U.S. Hemp Authority Certified. All of their broad spectrum products are sourced from USDA certified organic hemp farms that are located in different microclimates in three regions and are non-GMO. This company completes voluntary pre-validation of their soil before planting their hemp crop.

HempFusion offers DNA verified heirloom hemp that gives consumers CBD and a wide array of cannabinoids. Their hemp is extracted using a unique proprietary CO2 extraction method called “Hemp One-Pass Extraction,” or H.O.P.E., that protects compounds lost when using other methods of extraction. They formulate each of their CBD products with easily digestible MCT oil as the carrier for maximum bioavailability.

After formulation, the next step is independent third party CBD testing, which is an important quality and safety control measure utilized by Hempfusion to ensure that the labeled potency of CBD and THC matches the contents. They conduct rigorous independent purity and potency lab testing for all of their products and post the highly accurate results online.

They offer premium quality, certified organic, broad spectrum CBD that is available in the form of tinctures, capsules, gummies, topicals, skin care, and liquids. Their products range from 14 mg to 600 mg in potency, and are higher priced compared to other premium brands, with an average price point of $.59 per mg of CBD.
