The Bottom Line

The company is new, founded by energetic athletes, and offers products tested by third-party labs. The general mantra of the company is to target athletes and the general public struggling with pain and muscle aches. The products also aim at improving the health in general.
They offer CBD sprays, capsules, and creams. The variety of products is limited compared to other brands.

They source their hemp from Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Netherlands. However, there isn’t enough information on their website regarding the nature of the products, that is, whether they are natural, non-GMO etc.

fourfivecbd uses the superior CO2 extraction method ensuring the product is free of solvent residues.
I tested their CBD spray, capsules, and balm. My overall experience with the product delivery and usage was fine. The packaging was simply laid out for lay person and information was clearly mentioned on the product labels. However, the customer support was quite questionable.
Finally, comparing their products with similar products from other brands, their products price is higher on a per mg basis.

We visited fourfivecbd’s offices and interview the two founders: George Kruis and Dom Day about how it all started, their manufacturing process, variety of products and their future plans.

We are thrilled to announce that fourfivecbd has been recognized as a top choice in the following buying guides:

Best UK CBD Brands

Pros: Cons:
  • The product line provides preparations ranging from quick-release sprays to long-acting capsules and balms.
  • The shipping and delivery are robust and quick (at least in the UK and Ireland).
  • The products are third-party tested and contain the right doses of CBD and THC.
  • The products are vegan-friendly and free of organic solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, bacteria, and mold.
  • Customer support needs to be more robust. I contacted them and am still waiting for their reply.
  • They do not ship outside the UK and Ireland.
  • The refund policy sounds dodgy and there is no cash back guarantee.
  • The products are rather pricey compared to other products with a similar profile.
  • The company is new and we still do not know a lot about the company.
  • The manufacturer has not provided enough information on the intended use of the product, potential side effects, allergies, and so on.

Methodology

  • Read our methodology for more details about ranking and our review process.

    Data Collection and Rating

In our review process, we receive CBD products directly from the brand to personally review ourselves, so we can give you an accurate idea of the packaging, potency, taste, smell, feel, and overall experience of each product. We also discuss the company’s shipping and returns policy.
Another important step we take is reviewing each individual product for details such as the certificate of analysis to assess the CBD level and CBD variance, THC level, and contaminants.
We take all factors into account and give each CBD brand and each CBD product a score for each parameter.
All of the information we collect is generated into a concise, easy to read review and put into our extensive database. Keep in mind, our reviews are never intended to substitute or act as medical advice.

    Product DataBase

Our database collects key information for each product, including CBD product prices, potencies, third-party lab test results, flavors, additional ingredients, hemp quality, extract types, product variety, and more.
We then use all of this combined data to give each brand and product a standardized rating out of five points.

    Brand Review Process

There are many factors we consider when we review the quality, integrity and products of a CBD brand. We rate each brand on several factors including:

    • Transparency & accuracy. It is important that a CBD brand is forthcoming with who makes up their team, their mission, manufacturing process, and lab reports. Also, we look for the accuracy of the CBD and THC levels in the products’ lab reports.
    • Hemp quality. Hemp quality can be a deciding factor between a good CBD brand and a great CBD brand. We look for organic and sustainable farming methods with attention to detail in each manufacturing step.
    • The variety of products they offer. We like to see several CBD product types and flavors.
    • Customer service. It is essential that each CBD company has multiple ways to connect to customer service to ask questions. We look for speedy and complete responses.
    • Price and discounts. Competitive pricing is an important aspect of being a top-rated CBD brand. We also look for discount options and ways to save on your order.

    Market Reports

Another way Leafreport stands out from other CBD review websites is our evidence-based market reports. For each one, we purchase different types of CBD products and send them for independent lab testing to check whether their levels of CBD and other cannabinoids match the label.

    Information Updates

Writers and editors conduct our reviews and our database on an annual basis but continually make updates throughout the year. We maintain frequent contact with brands and highlight any changes in offerings.

    The Review Team

Our review team is made up of a wide chain of qualified CBD review writers, some with medical degrees, some with statistics backgrounds, others with ample experience in the CBD arena. Each and every one of our CBD reviews are approved by our medical reviewer before being published on our website to ensure all information is accurate.

    Conflicts of Interest

While Leafreport does have partnerships with many of the reviewed brands, we manage potential conflicts of interest by maintaining a wall between our content and business operations. This wall is designed to prevent our writers and the review process from being influenced or impacted by our business partnerships. This way, all reviews can provide an unbiased review that serves the interests of our users.

    About Us

They provided a postal address, a contact number, and an email address on their website. In addition, you can reach them on their Facebook page with a typical response time of less than a day.

However, they don’t have a Live Chat option on their website.

    Labels and Product Pages

The website has a simple layout without excessive jargon. Each page is focused on one product and the necessary information is concisely summarized.

The product pages clearly state the consumption method and instructions for use.

For instance, the CBD spray is intended to be used one to three times a day and the maximum dose should not exceed 100 mg per day.

As for the products I received, the information was clearly laid out on the labels. I received a lot of additional literature in the form of booklets to help understand what the products were meant for.

Also, the product labels had the same information in terms of active ingredients and their dosage as mentioned on the website.

The product had simple to follow instructions even for people who don’t have any understanding of CBD. The package labeling was simple and free of clutter.

The spray should go under the tongue for maximum absorption. The instructions are pretty clear.

Another thing that stands out is that they have attached the Banned Substances Control Group’s (BSCG) or similar analysis report for their products. This 3rd party testing confirms the authenticity of the products. However, I am unsure, based on the information given on their website, if they do this testing on each of their batches.

The extraction method (CO2 extraction) is mentioned. The pages also highlight the natural and vegan-friendly nature of the products.

When it comes to CBD extraction two main methods are used: ethanol-based extraction and CO2 extraction.

In ethanol-based extraction, ethanol (or other organic solvents are used) is used as the main solvent. The hemp plant is treated with ethanol. Ethanol draws out CBD and other organic compounds from the plant. The solution is then subjected to distillation oremove ethanol. This process is quick and inexpensive. However, it can leave behind traces of ethanol in the final product.

CO2 extraction, on the other hand, uses liquid CO2 as the primary solvent. The hemp plant is treated with CO2 that draws out CBD and other organic compounds from the plant. The solution is then heated. CO2 turns into a gas and escapes. This process is expensive but does not leave behind any traces of solvent. The product produced is of superior quality.

The biggest downside is that the product labels are not displayed on the product pages. Although the pages do mention the CBD concentration, the product labels are not displayed.

    FAQs

    This section is rather lacking.

The FAQs page focuses more on generic questions about CBD instead of product-focused questions.

For instance, when should you start seeing the results? This question is ambiguously answered.

Also, the FAQs section does not highlight the hemp source, does not talk about the purity of the product, provide any allergy warnings, intended uses, potential benefits and so on.

Above all, there is no mention of any potential side effects and interactions that might be experienced by the user.

Overall, this section of the website requires a lot of improvement.

    Accuracy

    This section stands out.

Each product page has an analysis report. The report highlights the amount of CBD you get per gram or serving of the product. These amounts are clearly stated on the product pages as well.

The CBD oil spray contains 0.00 to less 0.2 percent THC as per BSCG’s report.

The CBD oil does not contain any solvent residues. It is free of E.coli, mold, other bacteria, and heavy metals.

    Reputation

The company was founded in 2018 by two well-known rugby players who suffered from injuries themselves during their careers. They founded the company in an attempt to find a sustainable solution for pain and injuries.

There are not many online reviews so it is difficult to tell if people find these products helpful.

    Buying Experience and Shipping

fourfivecbd offers free shipping for products over 50 pounds. They charge an extra 2.5 pounds for orders less than 50 pounds.

The website claims that each delivery takes one to two working days. That’s exactly what I experienced as well.

I ordered the product on a Wednesday and got it by Friday before 1 pm.

The buying and shipping experience is pretty straightforward and everything happened without a glitch.

I got the products I ordered in a sturdy box. The packing was nice and I got additional booklets as well, which contained the same information that you get on the website as well.

See the next section for the unboxing photos.

The company offers its products in the UK and Ireland only.

    Customer Service

When I was going through the company’s Facebook page, what set me off a little was their responsiveness. It states they typically take up to a day to reply.

While I understand that new startups can be busy but robust customer service is the key to customer satisfaction.

I experienced a similar thing when I contacted them through their designated contact addresses. I had a few questions about their product. I did not hear back from them at all.

This is another area that could use improvement.

    Manufacturing Process

The quality of CBD oil depends heavily on three main factors.

    • CBD oil sourced from the superior quality hemp

The hemp source is perhaps the most pivotal element for producing a quality CBD product.

The area, growing conditions, climate, whether or not the product is naturally treated, etc. significantly alter the constituents of the plant.

Another important element is whether or not the hemp is sourced from legal vendors that adhere to international regulations and if their products contain less than the permissible amounts of THC.

Consider this research for an example.

Researchers studied the constituents of cannabinoids derived from the hemp grown in the same area of Florence, Italy.

To their surprise, researchers noticed that the cannabinoids (CBD and THC) content of these products varied immensely even when they were grown in the same area.

To get a quality CBD preparation with a minimal quantity of THC, the harvest needs to be tightly monitored.

As for fourfivecbd, they do not offer much information about their hemp source. The website only mentions that they source their hemp from Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and the Netherlands.

The website does not mention anything about the legal status of the vendors, their quality control processes, and the nature of the facilities.

I reached out to learn more about their manufacturing process but haven’t heard from them as of yet.

    • The Extraction Method

Another factor that affects the CBD quality is the extraction method.

When it comes to drawing CBD from the hemp plant, two methods of extraction are common: solvent extraction and CO2 extraction.

Here we’ll go into the details of these extraction methods. Get ready for flashbacks to your high school chemistry class!

The basic principle of chemistry is ‘like dissolves like’. What this means is an organic compound dissolves only in an organic compound.

The cannabinoids in hemp (mainly CBD and THC) are organic compounds and are extracted from the plant using different solvents.

In the organic solvent extraction method

Solvents like butane are used. The plant is treated with butane and it draws the cannabinoids from the plant. Later, the extract is passed through additional processes to remove the primary solvent.

The solvent extraction process is faster, cheaper, and more commonly used. However, it achieves a lesser CBD concentration and higher THC concentration compared to the CO2 method. Also, it can leave residues of the solvent used.

    CO2 extraction method

On the other hand, is different. This method uses liquid CO2 as the main solvent. The hemp plant is treated with liquid CO2 to draw out cannabinoids from the hemp.

Removing CO2 is then easy. The extract is exposed to heat and CO2 turns to gas. This leaves behind pure CBD oil.

This method takes more time and is more expensive. However, the CBD oil gathered through this method contains higher CBD and lower THC concentrations. Also, there are no solvent residues following this procedure.

fourfivecbd uses CO2 extraction to derive CBD from the hemp.

    • Third-Party Testing

Finally, the last factor that adds to a product’s credibility and reliability is third-party testing.

Third-party testing means that an independent party evaluates your product for safety, authenticity, and ingredient concentrations.

You would be amazed to know that most of the dietary supplements are not third party tested.

In one Italian research study, scientists studied 19 different CBD-based supplements. To their surprise, they noticed that 15 out of those supplements had different concentrations of CBD and THC compared to what was advertised on the product labels.

fourfivecbd products are third-party tested. fourfivecbd oil is tested by the Banned Substances Control Group’s (BSCG), which is an authoritative figure in dietary supplements testing.

The BSCG report about fourfivecbd proves that each 30 ml bottle provides more than 1,000 mg of CBD. Each one ml serving offers the consumer 35.15 mg CBD.

The main product line of fourfivecbd is their CBD oil.

Now, here is the interesting part. Unlike most of the CBD oils that are available as oils or tinctures, fourfivecbd has introduced a unique way of delivering CBD into your body.

They have introduced a CBD oil spray.

The idea is that when you spray the oil under your tongue, this leads to faster delivery of CBD.

This CBD oil spray is best if you want a rapid effect. You should use it when recovering after physical activity and when you want a rapid reduction in pain.

As per the manufacturer’s recommendations, start with lower concentrations and move to higher concentrations if you don’t see the desired effects.

CBD capsules are another preparation available from fourfivecbd.

These capsules are slow-release and help you maintain a steady level of CBD in your body.

Think of the CBD oil spray as top-ups that provide you immediate relief. CBD capsules, on the other hand, are for sustained relief.

As per the manufacturer’s recommendations, start with lower concentrations and move to higher concentrations if you don’t experience the desired effects.

    CBD Balms review

This is a way of providing a targeted supply of CBD to a certain part of the body. Here are the details of fourfivecbd balm range.

These balms are meant to provide focused relief to the areas experiencing pain and tension. These areas include your joints and muscles.

As per the manufacturer’s recommendations, start with lower concentrations and move to higher concentrations if you don’t perceive the desired effects.

In-Depth Review of fourfivecbd Oil review

After all my research, I decided to use fourfivecbd for myself. I wanted to order the product to get an idea of the delivery, packaging, and product quality.

    I ordered the following products:

    • CBD oil spray 500 mg
    • CBD capsules 300 mg
    • CBD balm 200 mg

The website stated that orders are delivered within two to three working days. I ordered the product on Wednesday and got it on Friday.

I got the product in a sturdy box. The packaging for the box and individual products was quite simple yet elegant. I like yellow so I liked the layout.

    CBD Oil Spray review

The main product fourfivecbd offers is its CBD oil in the form of a spray.

The spray is available in four different preparations:

    • 0% THC CBD oil 1,000 mg
    • CBD oil 500 mg (Low strength)
    • CBD oil 1,000 mg (Medium strength)
    • CBD oil 2,000 mg (High strength)

The idea behind this CBD oil spray is quite ingenious.

The idea is to deliver a quick punch of CBD oil within a matter of minutes.

The manufacturer’s instructions mention using one to two sprays at a given time. Spray the oil below your tongue and hold it for one minute before swallowing.

Each bottle is 30 ml and contains up to 240 sprays.

For a 500 mg bottle, each spray delivers 0.12 ml of the oil that contains up to 2 mg of CBD.

I tried the 500 mg spray and followed the instructions. The oil had a somewhat thick consistency, something that you’d expect in any oil. The oil exhibited a neutral odor and had a light golden color.

I kept the spray under my tongue for one minute before swallowing it. I used the naturally flavored oil which didn’t impart a strong taste, to begin with. However, the oil left a somewhat rancid aftertaste, which was not that strong either. It lasted up to half an hour before disappearing.

According to the fourfivecbd website, they source natural hemp from Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and the Netherlands. They extract CBD from the hemp using the CO2 extraction method.

The hemp is not treated with pesticides or chemicals and the product is vegan-friendly.

The manufacturer recommends using one to two sprays at a given time and to repeat sprays up to two to three times a day. The manufacturer also warns not to increase your daily intake beyond 100 mg per day.

fourfivecbd recommends starting at the lower end of the product range (say 500 mg) and to gradually increase the dose using higher concentration products if you don’t feel the desired results.

Shipping costs an extra 2.5 pounds for every product ordered below a total order of 50 pounds. Shipping is free for orders above 50 pounds.

There is no money-back-guarantee and the product needs to be intact for it to qualify for a refund.

The manufacturers only supply the products within the UK and Ireland and shipping takes 1-2 working days.

The manufacturers have not mentioned the intended uses or potential benefits of the oil. In a broad sense, the product is supposed to help with pain, recovery, and mental function. But no specific statements are made anywhere in the website.

Finally, each spray delivers 2 or more mg of CBD. According to research, this is the right amount of CBD that could help provide immediate relief from pain.

    Fourfivecbd Balm review

The last product that I ordered was CBD balm.

fourfivecbd offers balms in two forms:

    • 45 ml, 250 mg CBD balm
    • 100 ml, 650 mg CBD balm

I ordered the 45 ml, 250 mg CBD balm.

The balm did not give off any strong smell. It was gentle and did not irritate my skin. The balm was not too greasy and I was able to wash it off quite easily.

    Unboxing

I got the package on the second day after my request. I received this sturdy-looking box (image 1).

Two booklets were enclosed that offer more or less the same information that you’d find on the website (image 2, 3, 4).

The package is quite colorful and to my surprise, they sent a complimentary hat! (Image 5)

I ordered a 500 mg CBD oil spray, a 300 mg CBD capsule pack, and a small CBD balm (image 5).
