The Bottom Line

Envy CBD is a farm to table CBD company that utilizes non-GMO, organic, pesticide free farming practices. They carry a GMP manufacturing certification however, they are not USDA certified at this time. All of their products are formulated by a Ph.D. chemist using a variety of plant extracts and natural ingredients.

Their headquarters are located in El Monte, California, and their farms are located in Colorado, Minnesota, and Oregon. They have multiple ways to get in touch with their customer care team as well. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of available information about who is behind the company, when they were founded, or who makes up their team.

Overall, they have a decently extensive product line and carry CBD tinctures, pet products, gummies, topicals, bath bombs, and capsules. They do not carry any vape products at this time.

All of their products are third party tested for THC, CBD, and contaminants such as microbials, pesticides, mycotoxins, and heavy metals. They do not present lab results in a manner that would allow customers to accurately judge CBD variance. The product lab reports do not have specific batch numbers which link up to the individual products they sell. This means it is impossible to know if your product was actually part of the tested batch.

The price of their CBD products is on the higher end. We typically see CBD tinctures priced between $0.05 to $0.10 per mg of CBD, and Envy CBD’s tinctures range in price from $0.07 to $0.16 per mg of CBD. Their overall price point reaches as high as $0.40 per mg of CBD.

Methodology

  • Read our methodology for more details about ranking and our review process.

    Data Collection and Rating

In our review process, we receive CBD products directly from the brand to personally review ourselves, so we can give you an accurate idea of the packaging, potency, taste, smell, feel, and overall experience of each product. We also discuss the company’s shipping and returns policy.
Another important step we take is reviewing each individual product for details such as the certificate of analysis to assess the CBD level and CBD variance, THC level, and contaminants.
We take all factors into account and give each CBD brand and each CBD product a score for each parameter.
All of the information we collect is generated into a concise, easy to read review and put into our extensive database. Keep in mind, our reviews are never intended to substitute or act as medical advice.

    Product DataBase

Our database collects key information for each product, including CBD product prices, potencies, third-party lab test results, flavors, additional ingredients, hemp quality, extract types, product variety, and more.
We then use all of this combined data to give each brand and product a standardized rating out of five points.

    Brand Review Process

There are many factors we consider when we review the quality, integrity and products of a CBD brand. We rate each brand on several factors including:

    • Transparency & accuracy. It is important that a CBD brand is forthcoming with who makes up their team, their mission, manufacturing process, and lab reports. Also, we look for the accuracy of the CBD and THC levels in the products’ lab reports.
    • Hemp quality. Hemp quality can be a deciding factor between a good CBD brand and a great CBD brand. We look for organic and sustainable farming methods with attention to detail in each manufacturing step.
    • The variety of products they offer. We like to see several CBD product types and flavors.
    • Customer service. It is essential that each CBD company has multiple ways to connect to customer service to ask questions. We look for speedy and complete responses.
    • Price and discounts. Competitive pricing is an important aspect of being a top-rated CBD brand. We also look for discount options and ways to save on your order.

    Market Reports

Another way Leafreport stands out from other CBD review websites is our evidence-based market reports. For each one, we purchase different types of CBD products and send them for independent lab testing to check whether their levels of CBD and other cannabinoids match the label.

    Information Updates

Writers and editors conduct our reviews and our database on an annual basis but continually make updates throughout the year. We maintain frequent contact with brands and highlight any changes in offerings.

    The Review Team

Our review team is made up of a wide chain of qualified CBD review writers, some with medical degrees, some with statistics backgrounds, others with ample experience in the CBD arena. Each and every one of our CBD reviews are approved by our medical reviewer before being published on our website to ensure all information is accurate.

    Conflicts of Interest

While Leafreport does have partnerships with many of the reviewed brands, we manage potential conflicts of interest by maintaining a wall between our content and business operations. This wall is designed to prevent our writers and the review process from being influenced or impacted by our business partnerships. This way, all reviews can provide an unbiased review that serves the interests of our users.

  • About the Company

Envy CBD prides itself on being a farm to table company, which means they control all aspects of their growing, production, and manufacturing processes to bring you high quality CBD products. Their emphasis is on building trust with their customers and providing transparency and traceability of their products.

In terms of their reputation, background information on when the company was started and by whom is lacking. Overall, it is unclear who makes up the Envy CBD team, however, they do mention that a Ph.D. chemist oversees their manufacturing processes.

Envy CBD’s FAQ page is comprehensive and provides ample information about CBD, what it is, how to use it, and other general knowledge. This is helpful for customers who may be new to using CBD. They also answer questions about their growing and manufacturing processes, shipping, and return policy. Unfortunately, they do not offer a money back guarantee and only accept returns for unopened products within 30 days of purchase. Their shipping policy states that products are shipped free nationwide, within two business days. A tracking number is provided via email.

To contact the company, they encourage you to contact them by email, and there is a live chat option available as well. Their headquarters are located in El Monte, California, and their farms are located in Colorado, Minnesota, and Oregon. They provide both an address for their headquarters, and phone number for their customer service line, which operates from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm PST on weekdays.

Their product pages are comprehensive and transparent. You can easily find information about how to use the product, the ingredients, the CBD strength and type of CBD, price, as well as a link to their third party testing results. They do not provide batch numbers on their third party lab results, so when looking at the results, it is unclear if your product was part of the batch they tested.

We assessed their third party lab results for the CBD Orange Tincture 250mg, which were tested via CannaSafe Labs. This sample was found to contain 260.14mg of CBD, which is 10.14mg more than listed for a CBD variance of 4%. This is below the acceptable 10% CBD variance level. The THC content was undetectable. This sample was also tested for the contaminants heavy metals, solvents, mycotoxins, microbials, and pesticides, and passed. Overall, this lab report assessment supports an assertion that their products are both clean and accurate, however, it is impossible to tell which exact batch of product their results are for.

    Leafreport’s market reports score

Topicals report – Envy CBD received an «F» score in our topicals products report where we tested 40 different topical products in an independent lab.

    Manufacturing Process

Envy CBD controls each step in their manufacturing process, from growing, to processing, to extracting, to packaging. They refer to this as farm to table manufacturing. This means they do not outsource any of the steps to other companies, resulting in full control of their products’ quality. It should be noted that they have a GMP certification.

Envy CBD has hemp farms in Minnesota, Colorado, and Oregon, and they report that they use proprietary hemp plants. However, they do not go into much detail about the hemp plants themselves or provide details on the benefits of their proprietary plants. In terms of their growing processes, Envy CBD declares that their growing practices are both non-GMO, organic, and pesticide free, however, they are not currently USDA organic certified.

Their CBD extraction process is via ethanol and results in full spectrum CBD. However, they state their products are 100% THC free. This is due to their proprietary chromatography process that isolates and eliminates specific plant components that are less desirable, such THC, lipids, chlorophyll, and wax. All of their products are created by and overseen by a Ph.D. chemist to ensure all other ingredients in their products are carefully selected for both quality and efficacy.

All of Envy CBD’s products are third party tested via CannaSafe labs or Botanacor labs for CBD content, THC content, and contaminants, including heavy metals and solvents mycotoxins, microbials, and pesticides. To access third party test results, they have batch numbers and/or QR codes on their product packaging, which take you to the general third party lab result page. However, they do not have batch numbers on their lab results, which means there is no confirmation that the results shown are specifically for your product. We looked at the report for their CBD Gel Capsules, which showed there are 9.20mg of CBD per capsule, 0.8mg less than listed for a CBD variance of 8%. This is within the acceptable 10% CBD variance limits. There is no detectable THC in the sample. This sample also passed tests for mycotoxins, microbials, pesticides, and heavy metals. Overall, their lab results show that their CBD and THC levels are accurate.

Envy CBD currently carries CBD tinctures, gummies, capsules, topicals, bath bombs, oil roll-ons, and pet products. They do not carry any vape products at this time.

    Coupons and Deals

Although Envy CBD does not offer any samples of their products, they do have a few ways to save money on your purchase. They offer discounts to military personnel, first responders, people in the medical field, teachers, seniors, and commercial drivers. To access a coupon code, you must be able to verify your status as belonging to one of the above categories using VerifyPass. It is unclear what the discount is for each category, unless you are approved for a coupon code.

    Buying Experience

Overall, the Envy CBD website is easy to use. Buying items on their website is simple and streamlined with their intuitive website design. All of the products are in categories under the shop tab, and there are detailed descriptions of each product, along with the price on each product page. Adding products to your shopping cart is as simple as clicking the “add to cart” button. Once your shopping cart is ready, to complete your purchase, you will just need to add your shipping information, coupon code (if you have one), and billing information.

All products ship for free across the country. Once you place your order, it will be shipped within two business days, and they will email you a tracking number. They accept returns of unopened products within 30 days of purchase, but they will not provide a refund on opened products.

Our products arrived about five days after purchase in a cardboard box with an Envy CBD label on all sides. It was evident from the packaging what was inside the box. In other words, the packaging was not discrete. Inside, the products were packaged in white paper along with a packing slip.

They do not specify how long it takes to receive your items once shipped, or who they ship through (UPS, USPS, FedEx). We emailed them through their contact form on their website to ask. They responded within a few hours and told us that they ship the next business day via USPS or FedEx, and shipments arrive between 2 and 3 days for west coast customers and 4 to 5 days for east coast clients.

We also asked them via email how we could be assured that our products are the same as the ones represented in their available third party lab results, given that there is no batch number to connect the two. They did not answer the question but sent a copy of the same lab report on their website for the tincture we referred to. Although their answer was speedy, we don’t feel completely confident in or satisfied by their response.

The Immunity CBD Roll-On comes in a white cardboard box that details the size of the product (10ml), the amount and type of CBD (100mg; full spectrum), THC content (0.00%) and the intended use. The directions are to apply topically. Keep in mind, this use has not been verified by us.

Inside, the product is in an amber glass bottle with a metal roller top to dispense the product. Since each application will dispense a varied amount of product, it is hard to say how many servings are in each bottle, or how many mg of CBD is in each serving.

This oil contains fractionated coconut oil along with orange essential oil. It has a fragrant orange smell, and it glides onto the skin easily. It absorbs into the skin by rubbing with your fingers, leaving a silky finish on the skin.

There is a QR code on the product which links up to the third party lab results page. There is no batch number. The available third party results revealed 93.90mg of CBD per bottle, 6.1mg less than listed for a CBD variance of 6%. This is within the acceptable 10% CBD variance limit. There is no detectable THC in the sample. This sample also passed tests for mycotoxins, microbials, pesticides, and heavy metals.

We received Envy CBD’s CBD Tincture in the Double Apple flavor. It is packaged in a white cardboard box, which is labeled with the product’s size (30ml), the total amount and type of CBD (500mg; full spectrum), THC content (0.00%) and the intended use. The directions are to take ½ a dropper twice per day in the morning and before bed. Keep in mind, this use has not been verified by us. With this dosing schedule, there are 60 servings in total per bottle.

This CBD tincture is contained in a clear, frosted glass bottle equipped with a childproof dropper top marked with lines to titrate your dose. The other ingredients include hemp seed oil, fractionated coconut oil, and apple essential oil. It is sweetened with stevia.

Through the glass bottle, you can see the green oil inside. Overall the oil does not have a strong smell, however, the apple flavor is very pronounced. It is mildly sweet with a crisp apple taste. The oil is thin in consistency and drops easily from the dropper.

There is no QR code, but there is a batch number on the product. The available third party results do not have a batch number to link to this particular product. We assessed the available third party results, which revealed there are 522.33 mg of CBD per bottle. This means there is 22.33 mg more CBD than listed for a CBD variance of 4%. This is within the acceptable 10% CBD variance limit. There is no detectable THC in the sample. This sample also passed tests for mycotoxins, microbials, pesticides, and heavy metals.

The Pet CBD tincture from Envy CBD is packaged in a white cardboard box, which is labeled with the product’s size (30ml), the total amount and type of CBD (250mg; full spectrum), THC content (0.00%) and the intended use. The directions are to add 2 to 3 drops to your pet’s mouth or food. They recommend increasing the dose per 5lb of your pet’s weight (but do not explain how much). Remember that we have not verified this use.

This CBD tincture is contained in an amber bottle with a childproof dropper top. The other ingredients are hemp seed oil and MCT oil. It is flavored with a bacon flavor, and they do not indicate if it is a natural flavoring or synthetic.

The oil inside the bottle is a very light yellow and has a thin consistency, similar to that of water. You can smell the bacon flavor, which smells similar to dried bacon bits. There are lines on the dropper which allow you to titrate in 0.25ml increments.

There is a QR code, but there is no batch number on the product, which links to the third party lab results page. We looked at the available third party results, which revealed there are 270.60mg of CBD per bottle. This means there is 20.60mg more CBD than listed for a CBD variance of 8%. This is within the acceptable 10% CBD variance limit. There is no detectable THC in the sample. This sample also passedtests for mycotoxins, microbials, pesticides, and heavy metals.

The CBD Gel Capsules come in a white plastic bottle with a childproof lid. The label indicated the number of capsules (10), the amount of CBD per capsule and type of CBD (25mg; full spectrum), THC content (0.00%), and the intended use. The directions are to take one capsule by mouth twice per day as needed. This use, however, has not been verified by us.

The gel capsules are manufactured using a gelatin base, which is an animal product and therefore not vegan friendly. They are transparent, and you can see the light yellow oil inside. They are easy to squish with your fingers and have a smooth texture. There is no smell or taste to the capsules.

Aside from the gelatin capsule, there is hemp oil and coconut oil in addition to the full spectrum CBD.

AQR code on the product links up to the third party lab result page, but not the individual results for this product. There is no batch number. The lab report shows 25.43mg of CBD per capsule, 0.43mg more than listed for a CBD variance of 2%. This is within the acceptable 10% CBD variance limit. There is no detectable THC in the sample. This sample also passed tests for mycotoxins, microbials, pesticides, and heavy metals.

The CBD Gummies in the original flavor come in a white plastic bottle with a childproof lid.
